Job Overview: The Field Coordinator serves as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for the area of intervention, leading the field base and defining the operational strategy in accordance with the humanitarian and geopolitical context. This role involves ensuring program quality and compliance with SI standards, mobilizing resources for implementation, managing teams, and overseeing safety, representation, and external coordination. The Field Coordinator must navigate a highly complex and volatile security environment, ensuring the safety of the team while training and guiding less experienced staff. The position requires a deep understanding of the operational context, especially in a ceasefire environment where many NGOs are unregistered. The Field Coordinator will also focus on enhancing implementation capacity, particularly if new funding is secured from donors. The initial priorities include ensuring team safety, monitoring team growth, and shaping SI's role in the evolving context.

Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar role. This experience is crucial for navigating the challenges of managing teams and operations in volatile contexts, particularly in areas affected by conflict or disaster.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a strong asset, while French is also advantageous. These language skills are important for effective communication with local partners and stakeholders, as well as for managing diverse teams.

The role is based in Gaza, specifically in Deir-el-Balah, where SI maintains its office and guesthouse. The salary for this position starts from EUR 3080 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses for expatriates. The position includes a rotation system, allowing for breaks every 8 weeks. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Gaza have improved since the ceasefire, with basic food items available, although prices remain high. Electricity at the SI office and guesthouse is solar-powered, and internet access is available with occasional limitations.
