Job Overview:
The Research Analyst position at UNDP involves providing data support and analysis to enhance the organization's research capabilities. The Research Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to gather relevant data, conduct analyses, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support UNDP's research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify data needs and develop appropriate data collection strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on data findings, ensuring clarity and accessibility for various audiences.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative data relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data collection methods and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in the development of research methodologies and frameworks for data analysis.
  • Provide training and support to team members on data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Stay updated on best practices in data analysis and research methodologies to enhance the quality of outputs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Tableau).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and data collection techniques.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is required. A Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data analysis, research, or a related field is required. Experience working with international organizations or in development contexts is highly desirable. Proven track record of conducting research and producing analytical reports is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Pakistan is an asset and would be considered a plus.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 220 days spread over 12 months. The position is full-time and requires the contractor to be available for the entire duration of the assignment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
