Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located in the Resident Coordinator Office in Peru, specifically in Lima, and is expected to start in May 2026, lasting for up to 6 months. The intern will work under the supervision of the Team Leader and will be involved in various tasks that contribute to legal and political analysis, including tracking legislative initiatives and preparing policy briefs. The role also involves supporting the coordination of activities related to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and participating in interagency group meetings. The intern will be expected to provide timely and quality contributions to political and legal analysis, assist in organizing meetings and events, and maintain information systems and resources. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in international relations and public policy within a UN context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a range of responsibilities, including:
  • Supporting the development of legal and political analysis, which involves tracking legislative initiatives and legal gazettes.
  • Assisting in the preparation of political analysis and relevant knowledge and policy briefs.
  • Coordinating activities related to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
  • Supporting the coordination of interagency groups and following up on agreements.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to other relevant activities of the Resident Coordinator Office.
  • Providing timely and quality contributions to political and legal analysis and tracking.
  • Contributing inputs to information and knowledge products, such as tracking tools, presentations, analyses, and briefs.
  • Supporting the organization and documentation of meetings, events, and coordination processes.
  • Maintaining and updating information systems and resources.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Additionally, strong analytical skills and proficiency in using MS tools, shared documents, and at least one data analysis or visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) are desirable. The ability to synthesize complex information into clear, accessible products for non-technical audiences is also important.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being currently enrolled in or having recently graduated from a relevant program in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Candidates should have completed at least the final academic year of a bachelor's degree or be enrolled in a graduate program. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of legal and political analysis in an international context.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of legal and political frameworks, particularly in relation to international relations and public policy. Experience in research, analysis, or any relevant internships would be beneficial, as it would provide practical skills that are applicable to the duties of this internship.

Languages:
