Job Overview:

The intern will contribute to integrating gender and youth cross-cutting approaches into the office's interventions, aiding in the analysis of information and generating inputs that strengthen strategic planning and the development of initiatives aligned with UNESCO's programmatic priorities in the country. Throughout the internship, the intern will work in a face-to-face environment at the UNESCO office in Lima, where they will enhance their teamwork skills, foster creativity, and acquire professional competencies with the guidance of specialists coordinating various programs and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Support in researching, collecting, and systematizing relevant information for the development and consolidation of strategic documents for the office, including inputs for the Country Strategy.
  • Contribute to the writing and reviewing of programmatic documents, concept notes, reports, and other analytical products related to the office's priorities.
  • Assist in incorporating gender and youth cross-cutting approaches into initiatives, projects, and programmatic planning processes.
  • Collaborate in preparing technical inputs, presentations, and support materials for meetings, events, and programmatic coordination spaces.
  • Perform other technical support tasks that contribute to the work of the Technical Coordination and the fulfillment of the office's programmatic priorities.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this internship include academic training in social sciences, anthropology, sociology, gender studies, development studies, international relations, or other related disciplines. Candidates should have experience or interest in topics related to gender, youth, indigenous peoples, sustainable development, or social research. The ability to conduct research, analyze information, and write technical documents is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess organizational skills, teamwork abilities, and the capacity to navigate intercultural environments.

Educational Background:

Experience:

Additional Notes:
This internship is governed by UNESCO's regulations, which stipulate that there is no remuneration for the position. Interns are required to have medical insurance, which must be presented to the organization. The internship will last for a period of 2 months, and upon completion, a certificate will be issued to the intern, provided they submit and have approved a report on their work. The internship does not include expectations for renewal or conversion to another type of contract, nor does it cover medical care services.
