Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will be responsible for the following duties: driving UNHCR vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers, delivering and collecting documents and other items, and meeting official personnel at airports or other locations while facilitating immigration and customs formalities as required. The incumbent will perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and ensuring that the vehicles are roadworthy and maintained according to security standards. The Driver will also perform minor repairs, arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean. In case of an accident, the Driver must follow the necessary procedures and ensure valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo in the vehicle. Additionally, the Driver will log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, and greasing, while strictly following instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor. The role may also involve supporting the identification and management of risks and seeking opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a valid A III-C category driver's license and a minimum of three years of driving experience with vehicles corresponding to that category. Candidates should have work experience as a driver for an international organization or private company, with at least three years of relevant experience. Knowledge of basic automotive mechanics and preventive maintenance is essential, along with basic skills in using computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). The ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, especially when transporting personnel from humanitarian or sensitive organizations, is crucial. Candidates should also possess good interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities, with the capacity to interact respectfully with colleagues, local authorities, and visitors.
