Job Overview:
The Head of Support (HoS) position at NRC Ethiopia is a critical leadership role focused on enhancing operational efficiency and compliance within the organization. The HoS will oversee the support functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Logistics, and ICT, ensuring that these departments work cohesively to support the overall mission of NRC. This role requires a strategic mindset to contribute to the development of the Country Strategy and Plan of Action, ensuring that operational support aligns with programmatic goals. The HoS will be responsible for managing the Master Support Budget and ensuring quality support for project implementation, which is essential for the success of NRC's initiatives in Ethiopia. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head of Support will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Providing line management for support managers across Finance, HR, Administration, Logistics, and ICT.
• Participating as a member of the Country Management Group (CMG) to ensure strategic alignment across all functions.
• Ensuring compliance with NRC policies, guidance, and donor/auditor requirements.
• Facilitating the strategic input of support functions into the Country Strategy and Plan of Action.
• Contributing to operational support in proposal development and ensuring alignment with program plans.
• Overseeing the Master Support Budget and country-level budgets, assessing and monitoring costs and resource allocation needs.
• Leading the development and review of NRC internal policies and procedures.
• Ensuring quality implementation of procurement and recruitment plans.
• Monitoring supply chain management to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Head of Support position must possess a strong background in operational management, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts. Key qualifications include:

• Proven experience in managing support functions such as Finance, HR, Logistics, and Administration.
• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in humanitarian settings.
• Excellent strategic planning and budget management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is essential for this role. Candidates should ideally hold a degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field. Experience:
The ideal candidate should have significant experience in a senior management role within a humanitarian or development organization. A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience is preferred, with a proven track record of managing support functions and leading teams in complex environments. Experience working in Ethiopia or similar contexts will be highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Ethiopia is considered a valuable asset, as it can enhance communication and engagement with local stakeholders and communities.

This position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with a contract duration of 12 months, subject to renewal based on funding and performance. The role requires approximately 30% travel within the country to support various operational needs.
