Job Overview: The Analyst position within the Environment & Sustainability Division is crucial for supporting the Bank's commitments under its Environmental and Social Policy. The role involves environmental and social appraisal and monitoring of the Bank's portfolio across various sectors. The Analyst will work closely with the Corporate Sector Team, which focuses on sectors such as Manufacturing & Services, Food & Agribusiness, Real Estate, and Telecommunications. The Analyst will be responsible for conducting assessments related to compliance with EU environmental legislation and international best practices, addressing social issues including human rights and labor impacts, and managing stakeholder engagement. This position requires collaboration with a multicultural team and offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects while ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: working on assigned projects and initiatives, supporting the assessment of Environmental and Social Policy compliance, evaluating environmental and social risks and impacts, and contributing to climate and nature risk assessments. The Analyst will conduct research, review documents, and perform analytical and technical reviews. Responsibilities also include developing methodologies, monitoring outputs and outcomes, managing data, and drafting publications. The Analyst will interact with stakeholders both internally and externally, support the coordination of meetings and events, and contribute to the improvement of internal processes and data management. The role requires adherence to the Bank's Behavioral Competencies and Corporate Behaviours.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in environmental and/or social sciences, economics, engineering, or a related field, or have comparable professional experience. A strong understanding of environmental and social risks, as well as knowledge of international standards and guidelines, is essential. Familiarity with financing instruments and processes is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal skills, research and analytical abilities, and excellent written and spoken English are required. Familiarity with a language of the EBRD countries of operations is a plus.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree in environmental and/or social sciences, economics, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with comparable professional experience may also be considered. A solid understanding of environmental and social issues, as well as familiarity with relevant international standards, is crucial for success in this role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in environmental and social assessment, project management, or related fields.
