Job Overview:
The Emergency Cash and Basic Needs Senior Manager is a critical role within the IRC's emergency response framework, specifically focused on delivering multipurpose cash assistance (MPCA) and other essential needs support. This position is designed for an individual who can effectively manage and coordinate emergency response efforts, ensuring that interventions are executed with speed and quality. The Senior Manager will be responsible for engaging with various stakeholders, facilitating clear communication, and ensuring that project indicators are met in accordance with IRC's policies and grant agreements. The role requires a proactive approach to program strategy, quality management, and effective budget utilization, all while maintaining a strong focus on the needs of the affected populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing technical and operational support for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of cash and basic needs programs; managing program teams through oversight, training, and performance feedback; leading needs assessments and market analyses to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design; collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop detailed work plans; ensuring compliance with established SOPs and quality control mechanisms; coordinating program delivery and partnership engagement; maintaining ethical data collection and information management systems; submitting monthly cash projections and ensuring budget utilization remains within acceptable variance levels; conducting weekly meetings with staff to review progress and provide guidance; representing IRC at relevant meetings and forums; and fostering a cohesive and professional team environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, agriculture, economics, international affairs, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in cash and voucher assistance is required, with a proven track record of leading teams to achieve results. Knowledge of livelihood projects, Emergency Business Grants, and Group Cash Transfer programs in complex emergency contexts is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Excellent spoken and written English is mandatory, and fluency in Arabic is required. Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, agriculture, economics, international affairs, or a related field is required for this position. Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cash and voucher assistance, with demonstrated leadership capabilities in achieving program results. Candidates should have experience in managing programs in complex emergency and post-conflict contexts, as well as a strong understanding of economic recovery and development projects. Previous experience in grants management and donor reporting is also highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both spoken and written, as the role involves significant communication with stakeholders and reporting. Additionally, fluency in Arabic is required to effectively engage with local communities and partners. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

This is an in-person role based in Darfur, Sudan, and remote work arrangements are not possible. The position involves living in a complex security environment with basic living conditions. The role is full-time and may involve significant travel within the region as part of the emergency response efforts.
