Job Overview: The UN Volunteer position under the direct supervision of the Iriba Head of Office involves a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the UNHCR's mission in Chad. The volunteer will be responsible for keeping abreast of developments in operations to prepare appropriate briefings and reports, including donor updates and internal situation reports. They will also prepare funding submissions for donors and draft after-action reports as necessary. The role requires the development and maintenance of working relationships with government entities, NGOs, and UN agencies to ensure cooperation in inter-related activities. The volunteer will support UNHCR-led Cluster activities, assist in organizing meetings, and serve as the communications focal point, contributing to press events and information dissemination. Additionally, the volunteer will develop capacity through coaching and mentoring national staff and ensure that the Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspective is integrated into all activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer include:
Keeping updated on all developments in operations to prepare briefings and reports.
Preparing periodic reports such as donor updates, internal situation reports, and activity-specific reports.
Drafting funding submissions for donors and after-action reports.
Developing and maintaining relationships with government, NGOs, and UN agencies.
Supporting UNHCR-led Cluster activities by preparing minutes and assisting in meeting organization.
Supporting the supervisor in meeting preparations, including drafting talking points.
Organizing and accompanying missions for VIP visitors and media to refugee sites.
Serving as the communications focal point for press events and media missions.
Producing content material for national and regional communications platforms. 1

Ensuring the AGD perspective is applied in all activities. 1
Providing a final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for development during the assignment.
