Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director position is crucial for developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring high levels of interdepartmental coordination in grant management and providing strategic support on donor relations, external representation, and compliance. The Coordinator will map donors, monitor funding opportunities, and make recommendations to the Country Director regarding the office's portfolio and business development opportunities. The role involves remote work from Chad, with bases in Sudan and most donors located in Nairobi, Port Sudan, or Addis Ababa. The initial months will focus on diversifying the donor portfolio, capacity building for team members, and refining partnership management systems.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Country Director will be responsible for the following duties:
Develop and monitor partnership and financial strategies for the country office.
Ensure effective interdepartmental coordination in grant management.
Provide strategic support on donor relations and external representation.
Manage the mapping of donors and monitor funding opportunities.
Meet with new donors to present SI's local and regional strategies.
Oversee the implementation of partnership management systems.
Lead capacity-building initiatives for the Grants Manager, RCO, and Partnership Manager.
Address security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security constraints and ensure safety measures are in place for staff.
Collaborate with local partners to enhance localization efforts in all states of operation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in international relations or program management. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration in a comparable position. Strong technical skills are required, including experience with BHA, ECHO, UN, and large consortiums, as well as proposal development and reporting. Candidates should also have experience in partnership management and team management, with a focus on capacity building.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in international relations or programs management is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of humanitarian aid and the management of international programs effectively.
Experience: The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration in a leadership role. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing partnerships and grants, as well as experience in proposal development and reporting.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage, while proficiency in French is seen as an asset that could enhance communication and collaboration in the region.

The role is based in N'Djamena, with responsibilities extending to Sudan. The salary starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance.
