Job Overview: The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical work experience that aligns with their academic studies or interests. They will assist team members in collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and use cases, and help design and implement solutions that align with organizational goals. Interns will analyze business processes and workflows to identify data-related improvement potentials based on business needs. They will also prepare materials for meetings, actively participate in discussions, and assist in maintaining documentation related to data management and governance processes. Additionally, interns will support the Data Architect in gathering information on best practices in data management and present findings to inform data strategy decisions. They will assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of data to ensure its quality and readiness for analysis, and provide ad hoc support to the team as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, Data Science, Management, Statistics, or a related field. A basic understanding of data management, data/business analysis, statistics, cloud data platforms, and/or software development is essential. Familiarity with business intelligence development, particularly using Power BI, is preferred. Good business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to work productively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams are also required. Interns should be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Educational Background: Candidates must be at least 20 years of age and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important that candidates have not previously participated in the IAEA's internship program.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should have a foundational understanding of data management and analysis. The internship is aimed at students and recent graduates, so relevant academic coursework or projects will be considered as part of the experience.
Languages: Good written and spoken English is essential for this position. Fluency in any other IAEA official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an asset and will enhance a candidate's application.
