Job Overview:
The Development Manager position is a pivotal role within the IRC's Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) department. This position serves as a key connector between RAI programs at assigned sites, the RAM team, and private fundraising teams across External Relations (ER). The Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that RAI's proposals are clearly articulated, tracked, and effectively supported throughout the entire grant lifecycle. This role directly contributes to the expansion and sustainability of high-impact services for clients across RAI's programs. Reporting to the Director of Development in the RAM department, the Development Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including RAI assigned sites, technical units, program services, and ER fundraising teams. The primary focus of this role is to lead the development of private funding opportunities, manage a growing portfolio of private-sector donors, and strengthen systems and processes for timely delivery of donor commitments and high-quality reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Manager will have a diverse set of responsibilities, primarily divided into three main areas: Pre-Award Activities (75%), Post-Award Activities (10%), and RAI–ER Collaboration (15%). In the Pre-Award Activities, the Development Manager will lead the development of concept notes and proposals for private donors in coordination with RAI assigned sites and ER, ensuring that proposals reflect prioritized funding needs. This includes prospecting for new donors and managing entries in the OTIS system. In Post-Award Activities, the Development Manager will serve as the focal point for assigned private awards, coordinating with various teams on revenue allocation and ensuring accurate use of internal systems. Lastly, in RAI–ER Collaboration, the Development Manager will attend quarterly meetings and support the development of processes that improve how RAI assigned sites and ER manage private-sector partnerships.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Development Manager position should possess a minimum of 3-6 years of progressively responsible experience in private fundraising, grant management, or a related field. This includes at least 3 years of experience with humanitarian, migration, resettlement, or social service programs. A strong understanding of private donor motivations and experience in managing private awards across geographically dispersed teams is essential. Candidates should have a proven record of leading successful proposals and high-quality donor reports, along with experience in donor compliance, budgeting, and reporting. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, public policy, nonprofit management, or business is required for this position. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience, particularly in private fundraising, grant management, or related fields. Experience in humanitarian, migration, resettlement, or social service programs is highly desirable, along with a track record of managing and monitoring private awards across diverse teams and functions.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the populations served by the IRC.

Additional Notes:
This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location. However, applicants must have a dedicated workspace to effectively complete their work during scheduled hours. The compensation for this role ranges from $67,500 to $84,000, based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and individual candidate experience.
