Job Overview:
The position of Casual Staff/Enumerator within the NRC Livelihoods and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security Department is crucial for the implementation of emergency projects aimed at sustaining livelihoods and providing food security in Central Somalia. The role involves working directly with displaced communities to facilitate the registration of beneficiaries, monitor project activities, and ensure effective data management. The Enumerator will travel to remote villages within the Galgaduud region, engaging with local populations to gather essential information and support the overall objectives of the NRC's emergency response initiatives. This position requires a strong commitment to accountability and community engagement, as the Enumerator will represent NRC in various community settings, ensuring that beneficiaries are informed and supported throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Enumerator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting beneficiary mobilization in target villages, ensuring that beneficiaries understand their cash entitlements and the processes involved in receiving assistance, collating and managing data for reporting purposes, assisting survivors of protection risks, disseminating project information, establishing accessible complaint and response mechanisms, and supporting community awareness activities. The Enumerator will also prepare and submit monthly reports and maintain accurate records of beneficiaries in both electronic and manual formats. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the immediate supervisor as needed, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and responsiveness in this role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Social Science or a related field, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in community engagement or mobilization. Previous experience working in the specific districts of Abudwak, Herale, and Balanbal in Somalia is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Somali are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, the ability to build trust within communities, and the capacity to navigate complex social dynamics effectively.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Social Science or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary theoretical framework and understanding of community dynamics, social structures, and the challenges faced by displaced populations, which are critical for effective engagement and mobilization efforts.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of previous experience in community engagement or mobilization, particularly in the context of humanitarian assistance. Experience working directly with displaced communities and familiarity with the local context in Abudwak, Herale, and Balanbal will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful community interaction and project implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Somali is mandatory for this role, as effective communication with beneficiaries and stakeholders is crucial. Proficiency in additional local languages or dialects may be considered an asset, enhancing the Enumerator's ability to connect with diverse community members.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is initially set for two months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The role is classified as casual, and the Enumerator will be expected to travel frequently to surrounding project areas. The duty station will primarily be in Abudwak, Balanbal, and Herale.
