Job Overview:
The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager is tasked with overseeing the supply chain and operations management at the Kharkiv base. This includes managing the fleet, premises, energy, and ensuring the implementation of Solidarités International's procedures. The Logistics Manager will provide advice and support to the program department and the Field Coordinator to ensure smooth program implementation. The role is crucial for managing the logistics budget and ensuring efficient use of resources, assets, and equipment. The position also involves addressing challenges such as providing support to newly recruited staff, structuring logistics processes, and integrating security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security operations into logistics management. The Logistics Manager will play a key role in launching new projects and supporting partners in establishing their logistics processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
  • Managing the supply chain and logistics operations at the Kharkiv base, ensuring compliance with SI procedures.
  • Advising and supporting the program department and Field Coordinator in program implementation.
  • Managing the logistics budget and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Providing support and coaching to the Logistics Operations Assistant.
  • Structuring and clarifying roles, processes, and workflows within the logistics department.
  • Engaging proactively in partnership strategies, including training and coaching partners.
  • Overseeing the integration of security operations into logistics management.
  • Ensuring effective management of stocks, assets, premises, and staff.
  • Launching new projects and preparing for winterization. 1
  • Finalizing contingency plans and conducting stock reviews.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Logistics or humanitarian studies. Additionally, they should have at least 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 3 years in a similar logistics position. Technical skills required include excellent knowledge of logistics and supply procedures in the humanitarian sector, experience in managing operational logistics departments, and familiarity with donor requirements for logistics. Transversal skills such as management experience, negotiation capabilities, and an analytical mindset are also essential.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Logistics or humanitarian studies is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of logistics in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3 years in a similar logistics role. This experience is crucial for understanding the operational challenges and requirements of managing logistics in a humanitarian setting.

Languages:
Fluency in English at a C1 level is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication and operations within the local context.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting on June 15, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and involves working under volatile security conditions that require high adaptability. The compensation package includes a starting salary of EUR 2310 gross per month, which consists of a base salary of EUR 2100 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly Per Diem of EUR 70
  • SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. During the assignment, a system of work and time off is implemented, allowing for breaks every three months of work, along with additional rest days. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
