Job Overview: The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer (Fleet & Assets) position is crucial for the effective implementation of logistics functions within the North-East Ukraine area office. This role involves managing assets and fleet operations, ensuring that all logistics activities align with NRC policies and guidelines. The Logistics Officer will work under the guidance of the Logistics Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating the movement of people and assets, as well as overseeing fleet management operations. This position is particularly important as NRC scales up its operations in the region, and the Logistics Officer will play a key role in ensuring that logistics processes are efficient and effective. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct daily operational logistics activities, prepare reports, and ensure that all safety equipment is available and compliant with recommendations from the Health, Safety, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security (HSS) team.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, implementing delegated logistics functions according to the Plan of Action, conducting daily operational logistics activities, preparing fleet and asset reports, checking safety equipment availability, and ensuring proper filing of logistics-related documents. Specific responsibilities include supporting the Logistics Coordinator in managing stock and asset performance, planning and monitoring staff transportation and equipment movements, ensuring that NRC vehicles are operational and maintained, and conducting regular stock counts. The Logistics Officer will also be responsible for training drivers, managing taxi orders for NRC staff, and submitting reports on vehicle and fuel usage. Additionally, the officer will be the focal point for all staff inquiries regarding fleet and asset management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, particularly in asset management. Specific knowledge of motor vehicle construction and layout is essential, along with previous experience managing a fleet for at least 6 months. Proficiency in Office software, including Word and Excel, is required. Candidates should also have a basic understanding of the humanitarian context in which NRC operates and experience working in complex and volatile environments. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities will be considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics operations and effectively managing fleet and asset responsibilities within the humanitarian context.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, with a specific focus on asset management. Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience managing a fleet, which is critical for ensuring the effective operation of NRC vehicles and compliance with safety standards. Experience in a humanitarian or recovery context is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and requirements of working in such environments.
Languages: Proficiency in English at an intermediate level is mandatory, along with fluency in Ukrainian. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the local context in which NRC operates.
Additional Notes: This position is open to candidates who have the legal right to work in Ukraine, and it is important to note that NRC is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships for this role. The position is full-time and will be based in Kharkiv, where the new Area Office will be established. The Logistics Officer will be expected to work closely with other team members and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of logistics functions in support of NRC's mission in North-East Ukraine.
