Job Overview: The Enumerator position within the NRC's Livelihoods and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security department is crucial for implementing emergency lifesaving and sustaining livelihoods initiatives in South Central Somalia. The role involves conducting beneficiary registrations, monitoring, data cleaning, verifications, and community mobilizations in remote villages of the Galgaduud region. The Enumerator will represent NRC professionally and respectfully, adhering to the organization's Code of Conduct. This position requires travel to various locations to ensure effective project implementation and support the local communities affected by displacement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Enumerator will have a range of responsibilities including:
SCOPE Management: Supervising the registration, validation, and updating of beneficiary data in the SCOPE system, ensuring data quality and minimizing duplication.
Field Supervision: Overseeing SCOPE registrars, providing hands-on technical support for biometric devices, and ensuring the security of hardware.
Coordination & Compliance: Collaborating with local authorities, community leaders, and WFP partners to ensure that targeting criteria are met.
Reporting & Accountability: Producing regular, accurate reports on registration, redemption, and feedback to ensure accountability and inform decision-making.
Sensitization: Training field staff and educating beneficiaries on entitlement, redemption processes, and complaint mechanisms.
Field Monitoring: Conducting regular field visits to monitor distribution sites, track project progress, and manage the logistics of beneficiary registration.
Equipment Management: Supervising and reporting on the condition of machines, computers, RTPI machines, and MPoSe.
Crowd Management: Ensuring proper alignment of beneficiaries, especially women and those with special needs. 1
Additional Duties: Performing other tasks as requested by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Enumerator position should possess the following qualifications:
A university degree in social science or a related field.
A minimum of two years of previous experience in food distribution supervisory roles.
Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with various stakeholders.
A positive attitude and the ability to navigate complex environments both internally and externally.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a university degree in social science or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the social dynamics and challenges faced by displaced communities, as well as for effectively implementing the food distribution and livelihood support programs.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in food distribution supervisory roles. Experience working specifically in Abudwak, Somalia, is highly desirable, as it provides the candidate with the necessary context and understanding of the local challenges and community dynamics.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Somali, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. This language proficiency is crucial for effective communication with beneficiaries, local authorities, and team members. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: The contract period for this position is initially set for 2 months, with the possibility of extension based on need. The salary and benefits will be in accordance with NRC’s salary scale and terms and conditions. Frequent travel to surrounding project areas is expected as part of the role. The duty station for this position is Abudwak.
