Job Overview:
The Information Technology Security Officer position is crucial for the IAEA's Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, specifically within the Division of Nuclear Security. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of activities aimed at enhancing information and computer security within member states' nuclear security regimes. The officer will work closely with member states to ensure that their nuclear security frameworks are robust and effective against potential threats. The position requires a blend of project management and technical expertise, as the officer will be responsible for coordinating various initiatives, conducting assessments, and providing training to enhance awareness of cyber threats and security measures. The officer will also be involved in drafting guidance documents and policies related to information security, ensuring that sensitive information is adequately protected.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Technology Security Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: 1) Identifying, proposing, planning, and managing activities related to information and computer security within the Division of Nuclear Security. 2) Advising on and revising internal policies and procedures to maintain the security of sensitive information. 3) Leading the development of Nuclear Security Series guidance documents for information and computer security implementation. 4) Conducting information security assessments and advisory missions as needed. 5) Developing and delivering training courses to enhance computer security awareness among member states. 6) Collaborating with various sections, divisions, and external organizations to fulfill tasks effectively. 7) Ensuring compliance with IAEA's Radiation Safety Regulations as the role may involve exposure to radioactive materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in information science, computer science, nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in these areas combined with two years of relevant work experience may be considered. The position requires a minimum of seven years of experience in commercial, national, or international organizations, particularly in software design and development for complex information systems, as well as IT project management. Familiarity with the nuclear domain is advantageous, and proven technical writing skills are essential for drafting and editing security guidance documents.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as information science, computer science, nuclear science, or nuclear engineering. A first-level university degree in these areas, along with two years of relevant work experience, may also be acceptable. This educational background is critical to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the IAEA's nuclear security initiatives.

Experience:
The role requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience in relevant fields, particularly in software design and development for complex information systems. Candidates should have experience in IT project management and familiarity with the nuclear sector is considered an asset. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the officer can effectively manage projects and contribute to the development of security measures within the nuclear security framework.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $86,027, along with a variable post adjustment currently amounting to US $48,43
