Job Overview:
The position of Volunteer in Social Behavior Change (SBC) and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) is crucial for UNICEF's mission in Venezuela. The volunteer will support the implementation and monitoring of SBC strategies and the AAP principle, aiming to enhance community participation and empowerment. This role is integral to achieving positive social behaviors among children, adolescents, and their families, particularly in vulnerable communities. The volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Field Office Chief and in technical coordination with SBC and AAP officers at the central level. The position is designed to ensure that the voices and priorities of the affected populations are integrated into all stages of program cycles, thereby informing effective work plans with state organizations, civil society, and communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: supporting the implementation of SBC strategies tailored to local realities, developing action plans with clear deliverables and timelines, coordinating logistics for SBC and AAP activities, adjusting tools and methodologies for violence prevention against children, producing context-appropriate educational materials, facilitating training sessions for colleagues and partners, organizing dialogue spaces between frontline workers and local communities, and conducting public presentations of programs and results. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute to the mapping of feedback mechanisms and community platforms, support the generation of evidence and knowledge management for AAP and SBC, and ensure the implementation of the Inter-Agency Feedback Mechanism (IFM). The expected outcomes include the availability of SBC and AAP strategies and materials adapted to local contexts, strengthened capacities of implementing partners, and the incorporation of community feedback into program cycles.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning. They should possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments, and a strong understanding of UNICEF's operations. The role requires adaptability to potentially challenging living conditions and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, as well as the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations. Flexibility and a willingness to travel within the operational area are also important.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of child rights and community engagement principles, as well as experience in program implementation and monitoring.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience in community development, social behavior change, or humanitarian work. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with vulnerable populations and implementing participatory approaches. Experience in training and capacity building is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with UNICEF's principles and methodologies.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Venezuela. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position with a monthly living allowance of 1,299 USD, along with a pre-assignment allowance and a final assignment allowance upon contract completion, subject to conditions. The role includes medical, dental, and hospital insurance, as well as life and disability insurance. The volunteer will be expected to adapt to the local cultural context and operational protocols, considering the socio-economic challenges and service deficiencies reported in the region.
