Job Overview:
The consultant will be responsible for producing a comprehensive Country Analysis (CA) for Morocco, which is a collaborative effort involving various UN agencies. The CA aims to provide a contextual understanding of Morocco's socio-economic landscape, identify pathways to accelerate the SDGs, and incorporate foresight methodologies to anticipate future risks and opportunities. The consultant will engage in literature reviews, facilitate workshops, and draft reports while integrating feedback from stakeholders. This role requires a strong analytical background and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include preparing a methodological note for the CA, conducting horizon scanning to identify emerging risks, and facilitating thematic working groups. They will support the drafting of the CA by integrating inputs from UN agencies and stakeholders, ensuring coherence with causal and systemic approaches. The consultant will also prepare reports summarizing findings from horizon scanning, develop drafts of the CA, and present the final version at validation workshops. The role requires collaboration with various UN agencies and stakeholders to ensure the CA reflects a comprehensive understanding of Morocco's socio-economic context.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in social sciences, development, economics, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic economic analysis, data analysis, and analytical writing is required. Familiarity with Morocco's socio-political and economic context is essential, along with experience working with academia, international organizations, and government institutions. Skills in facilitating workshops and discussions, as well as data visualization and synthesis, are highly desirable. Knowledge of foresight and horizon-scanning methodologies is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in social sciences, development, economics, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of socio-economic analysis and for effectively contributing to the Country Analysis.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic economic analysis, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and analytical writing. Candidates should have a solid understanding of macro- and micro-economic issues, particularly in the Moroccan context. Experience in facilitating workshops and thematic sessions is also desirable, as is familiarity with data visualization tools and methodologies.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, is required for this position. A good command of Arabic is considered desirable. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with stakeholders and presenting findings.

Additional Notes:
The assignment is expected to last for 6 months on a part-time basis. The consultant will work under the supervision of the UN Resident Coordinator and the Economist of the Resident Coordination Office in Rabat, Morocco.
