Job Overview:
The People & Culture Associate plays a crucial role in providing operational support for the core People and Culture (P&C) functions within the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) project funded by the US Government in Morocco. This position is essential for ensuring that the P&C processes align with FHI 360 policies and Moroccan labor laws. The associate will be responsible for various tasks including recruitment coordination, onboarding new employees, managing employee benefits, maintaining accurate employee data, and ensuring compliance with policies. The role requires a proactive approach to address employee needs and to contribute to the overall efficiency of P&C services. The associate will work independently on routine tasks while also collaborating with other P&C staff members as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the People & Culture Associate include coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes such as posting vacancies, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks. The associate will maintain and update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data to ensure its accuracy and completeness. They will support performance management processes by assisting with goal-setting and reviews, and will also be involved in payroll and benefits processing, liaising with vendors as necessary. The associate will facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, provide first-line responses to employee inquiries regarding P&C policies and benefits, and assist with compliance reporting and documentation for audits. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the People & Culture Associate position should possess a strong working knowledge of P&C procedures and employment regulations. Attention to detail and data accuracy is critical, along with good communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to handle confidential information appropriately is essential. The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve routine P&C issues independently while escalating more complex matters when necessary. The role requires a commitment to contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of P&C services.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of human resources management and organizational behavior, which are crucial for the role of People & Culture Associate.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in People & Culture functions, preferably within an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) or a similar environment. Experience supporting US Government-funded contracts and familiarity with applicable rules and regulations is strongly preferred, as this knowledge will enhance the candidate's ability to navigate the specific requirements associated with such funding.

Languages:
Written and spoken professional proficiency in English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly French or Arabic, would be considered an asset, as it would facilitate communication within the diverse workforce and with local stakeholders.
