Job Overview:
The Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable, and sustainable business intelligence solutions that enhance the organization's ability to monitor performance, analyze trends, and make evidence-based decisions across various functions including Finance, Health, HR, and Education. The consultant will work closely with the EBI team to develop and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines, design scalable data models, and create interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders. The role requires a strong focus on data quality assurance and the promotion of best practices in business intelligence development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will include developing, enhancing, and maintaining efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration from multiple enterprise systems. They will design and optimize scalable data models and reporting structures to improve data accuracy and usability. The consultant will deliver interactive dashboards and analytical tools that meet business requirements, improve the performance and reliability of BI solutions, and strengthen data quality assurance processes. They will enable business users to access timely and accurate information for operational monitoring and strategic oversight, promote standardization in BI development, and support ongoing improvements in EBI processes and data quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related discipline. They should have experience in designing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, familiarity with the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS), and experience in writing DAX/MDX expressions for Microsoft Analysis Services. Previous experience as an ETL developer and a clear understanding of data warehouse concepts and best practices are essential. Experience with SQL Server databases as a developer is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex data systems and business intelligence tools.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 4 to 6 years of professional experience in business intelligence, data integration, and ETL development. Proven experience in designing and maintaining complex dashboards, developing and optimizing data models, and managing data pipelines is essential. Experience supporting multiple business functions or departments and ensuring data accuracy is required, along with prior experience with Power BI, SQL, and data warehousing environments being highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in both Arabic and English is required for this position, as these are the working languages of UNRWA. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is based in UNRWA HQA Amman, Jordan, with a contract duration extending until December 31, 2026, subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory performance. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration equivalent to JOD 996.42 for each fully completed month. The role is part of the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID) and works under the supervision of the Head of Data Management, coordinating with the EBI team. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
