Job Overview: The position of Especialista en Gestión Escolar is integral to the implementation of the MYRP II program, 'Aprender sin Barreras', which focuses on promoting inclusive and equitable education for migrant and refugee populations in urban settings, particularly in Lima and Trujillo. The specialist will work closely with educational institutions to enhance the capacities of school leaders and teachers involved in management committees. The role involves updating and improving institutional management tools such as the Institutional Educational Project (PEI) and the Annual Work Plan (PAT), ensuring that they incorporate gender, inclusion, interculturality, and diversity approaches in line with the current regulations of the Ministry of Education (MINEDU). The specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing training actions aimed at strengthening the professional and technical capacities of educational leaders and teachers, thereby improving the quality and relevance of educational management instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities: The specialist will have a range of responsibilities including:
Planning and Coordination: Participate in induction actions for the 'Aprender sin Barreras' program, develop a work plan for implementing the methodological route provided by MYRP II, conduct visits to educational institutions for coordination, prepare and contextualize training actions, maintain a digital portfolio of evidence, and ensure ongoing communication with the program team.
Implementation of Training Actions: Develop group training workshops, provide technical assistance sessions, promote collaborative learning spaces, and identify best practices related to institutional management.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct evaluations to measure content appropriation and satisfaction, maintain a monthly tracking matrix of implemented actions, and prepare a final report analyzing the process and outcomes of the training program. The specialist will also be expected to perform other related activities as assigned by the program coordinator or sector coordinator.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a professional university or pedagogical degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Educational Management, Planning, or related fields. Additionally, specialization or postgraduate studies in educational management, strategic educational planning, or inclusive education are required. Courses or training related to gender equality, educational inclusion, and interculturality will be valued. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum of Basic Education (CNEB) and the transversal approaches.
Educational Background: A professional university degree in relevant fields such as Education, Social Sciences, or Educational Management is mandatory. Further specialization or postgraduate education in areas like educational management or inclusive education is also required. Training in gender equality and educational inclusion is considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in public management within educational institutions, such as EBR, UGEL, or Regional Education Directorates, is required. Experience in designing, facilitating, and implementing training processes for educational leaders and teachers is essential. Candidates should also have experience in providing technical assistance and support to educational institutions in developing management instruments, as well as in updating institutional management tools like PEI and PAT.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory as it is the native language required for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is six months, subject to budget availability and satisfactory performance evaluation. The position is not expected to be renewed or converted to another type of contract, and it does not include medical coverage.
