Job Overview: The position of Asistente de Monitoreo y Evaluación is crucial for the World Food Programme's operations in Peru. The incumbent will assist the RAM unit in all activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of the organization's projects. Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente de Monitoreo y Evaluación will report directly to the head of the unit and will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting the design and implementation of instruments and tools for data collection and analysis; collecting, recording, processing, and analyzing data for WFP monitoring and projects; ensuring quality control of information generated in field projects and strategic objectives; tracking planned activities and providing relevant information, reports, and alerts for timely attention to deviations affecting WFP objectives; maintaining updated information systems, records, and documentation of the WFP monitoring plan and projects; analyzing and preparing reports from national household surveys and other WFP study databases; participating in the development of information systems for project results and management; providing standard training to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices and tools; supporting field projects in developing M&E plans, knowledge management, and indicator dashboards; monitoring cohort indicators and longitudinal data; assisting in designing and implementing quality benchmarking monitoring systems for field projects; preparing periodic monitoring reports and reports requested by the Representation, incorporating gender analysis; and performing other related tasks as assigned by the Representative.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a completed secondary education cycle. A professional background in social sciences, economics, statistics, or a related field is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have completed courses in monitoring or impact evaluation. The position requires at least four years of experience in program management, monitoring, or social management projects. Experience working with United Nations agencies in similar roles for at least one year is preferred. Candidates should also have experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection processes, programming forms in XLSForm format, managing databases, ensuring information consistency, and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data. Experience in designing, collecting data, analyzing, and reporting on indicators of effects, products, and activities is essential, as is experience in preparing reports for donors and decision-makers, and developing indicator dashboards.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education, with a preference for candidates who have pursued higher education in relevant fields such as social sciences, economics, or statistics. Additional training or courses in monitoring and evaluation practices are highly desirable, as they will enhance the candidate's ability to perform the duties associated with this role effectively.
Experience: The Asistente de Monitoreo y Evaluación position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in program management, monitoring, or social project management. Candidates with experience working in similar roles within United Nations agencies for at least one year will be given preference. The role demands familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, as well as experience in data management and analysis, which are critical for ensuring the success of monitoring and evaluation activities.
