Job Overview: The Rehabilitation Project Manager will report directly to the Area Manager and play a crucial role in implementing the mandate and 10-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion in Sudan. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of rehabilitation projects, ensuring that they meet quality standards and have a significant impact on the target population. The manager will work closely with other HI managers to ensure effective functioning and sound management of the organization. The role involves managing a team of physiotherapists and technical officers, overseeing a budget of approximately 400K€, and engaging with donors and external partners. The Rehabilitation Project Manager will also be involved in strategic planning, project proposal drafting, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and technical standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Project Manager include:
Management: Act as a role model for HI's values, coach team members, and ensure operational management of the team.
Strategy and Steering: Contribute to the development of the program’s operational strategy and draft new project proposals.
Operational Implementation: Ensure project implementation aligns with the logical framework and budget, manage partnerships, and oversee project reporting.
Team Coordination: Facilitate coordination meetings and ensure collaboration between teams.
External Communication: Represent HI in networks and communicate project details to relevant stakeholders.
Emergency Preparedness: Lead emergency preparedness actions and reorganize team priorities in response to humanitarian needs.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a relevant degree in physical rehabilitation, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field and at least 2 years in project management, preferably in remote management settings. Experience in early rehabilitation projects or those linked to emergencies and chronic crises is essential. Proven training and local capacity-building experience are also required, along with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing contexts and a willingness to travel frequently to remote and insecure areas.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in physical rehabilitation is required for this position. This educational background should provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage rehabilitation projects and support individuals with disabilities.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in physical rehabilitation and 2 years of project management experience. Experience in managing rehabilitation projects in emergency or chronic crisis situations is highly desirable, as is a background in training and capacity building.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
Additional Notes: This position is for an 11-month international contract starting from June 202
The contract includes social coverage adapted to the context of the mission, such as unemployment insurance for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2448€ gross per month, with additional benefits including a per diem of 706€ net per month, a hardship allowance of 500€ net per month, and 25 days of paid leave per year. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be provided collectively by HI. For residents of the country, a local package will be offered.
