Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting in economic, social, demographic, spatial, and environmental research; conducting literature reviews on statistical frameworks and indicators; drafting background research papers, presentations, and technical documents; supporting the organization of meetings and events such as Expert Group Meetings and workshops; providing assistance for capacity-building activities in the African region; and contributing to communication efforts related to the section's work, including newsletters and online platforms. Additionally, interns may be asked to perform other duties as required by their supervisors.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Furthermore, candidates should be computer literate in standard software applications, demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a relevant educational background that aligns with the internship requirements.
