Job Overview:
The Campus Visitor Service Support Assistant UN Volunteer plays a crucial role in enhancing public engagement through the UN Bonn Campus Visitor Service. This position is integral to the Common Services Team and involves close collaboration with the City of Bonn and various UN Bonn entities. The assistant will be responsible for coordinating and organizing visitor tours, managing administrative and logistical aspects of the visitor service, and facilitating training sessions for tour guides. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure quality assurance and effective communication within the UN Bonn community and with external partners. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Campus Visitor Service Support Assistant UN Volunteer include: - Coordinating and organizing visitor tours on the UN Bonn Campus to ensure a seamless experience for all visitors. - Managing the administrative and logistical aspects of the visitor service, which includes scheduling tours, booking rooms, and monitoring calendars. - Organizing and facilitating training sessions for tour guides, including onboarding, refresher courses, and specialized training on thematic topics. - Conducting quality assurance through regular spot checks and implementing feedback mechanisms to enhance the visitor experience. - Ensuring that all tour guides receive the necessary security clearance in coordination with the UN Bonn Security Team. - Liaising with specialized UN agencies and external partners to organize thematic tours and presentations that enrich the visitor experience. - Organizing and conducting security briefings and training sessions for tour guides to ensure safety and compliance with UN protocols. - Supporting internal and external communication efforts for UN Bonn, which includes managing digital signage and making intranet announcements. - Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to tours, training sessions, and feedback received from visitors.

Additional Notes:
This position is a UN Volunteer role, which means that it is not a paid position in the traditional sense. Instead, UN Volunteers receive allowances and entitlements to support their living standards while serving. The monthly living allowance is EUR 1,526.71, and there is an entry lump sum payment of USD 17
  • Volunteers also receive an exit allowance of USD 60 for each month served, paid upon completion of the contract. Medical and life insurance is provided through Cigna Private Insurance. Leave entitlements include annual leave of 1.25 days accrued per calendar month, certified sick leave of up to 15 days based on a 12-month cycle, and uncategorized sick leave of 3.5 days for 12 months. Learning leave of 5 working days is also available per consecutive 12 months, with shorter assignments being prorated. The position is based in Bonn, Germany, which is recognized as a significant hub for UN agencies.
