Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is crucial for the successful migration of content from UN Women’s data hub to its corporate website. This role involves ensuring that all digital resources, including stories, publications, and other materials, are accurately transferred and structured according to UN Women’s corporate standards and branding guidelines. The volunteer will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the content during the migration process, which includes text, images, multimedia, and metadata. Additionally, the volunteer will conduct quality assurance checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of the migrated content, ensuring that all links, embedded media, and interactive elements function correctly. This position also requires documenting the migration process and creating guidelines for future content updates or migrations, making it essential for maintaining the organization’s digital presence and ensuring that gender data is accessible and usable.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Content Migration: The volunteer will migrate stories, publications, and resources to the new Drupal environment, ensuring the integrity of all content types. This includes maintaining the original content structure, taxonomy, and relationships, such as tags and categories. The volunteer will also verify the accuracy and completeness of the migrated content and conduct quality assurance checks to ensure it is error-free and functional.
  • Testing: The volunteer will test links, embedded media, and interactive elements to confirm usability and address any discrepancies identified during migration.
  • Documentation: The volunteer will document the migration process, creating a step-by-step guide and guidelines for future content updates or migrations.
  • Recreating Embedded Data Visualizations: The volunteer may need to redesign interactive data visualizations, such as charts and infographics, using approved tools to align with the original content.
  • Content Mapping: The volunteer will map data hub publications against UN Women websites to check for redundancies and identify matches or gaps in components that need to be developed or enhanced based on data hub needs. This includes documenting the mapping process and creating a user guide on existing components.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail and have experience with content management systems, particularly Drupal. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques is also essential. The volunteer should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines. Strong communication skills are necessary for documenting processes and creating user guides. Additionally, a background in gender studies, data analysis, or a related field would be beneficial.

Educational Background:
A degree in a relevant field such as gender studies, data science, information technology, or communications is preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience in content management or data visualization may also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience with content migration and management, particularly in a digital environment. Familiarity with Drupal or similar content management systems is essential. Experience in data visualization and an understanding of gender data issues will be advantageous. Languages:
