Job Overview:
The Financial Coordinator position is crucial for ensuring the financial health of the organization by coordinating financial and accounting operations. This role involves providing guidance and support to project finance and operations staff, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and conducting thorough analyses of financial data. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing budget analyses, financial reports, and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. The position requires a proactive approach to financial management, with an emphasis on developing effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. The Financial Coordinator will also play a key role in supporting the Finance Unit of the STRIDES project and the FHI 360 Indonesia office, contributing to the overall success of the organization's financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: analyzing budget forecasts and regulatory filings, compiling complex financial data, ensuring compliance with Indonesian statutes and Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). The role requires developing and maintaining effective working relationships with project teams, consultants, and management. The incumbent will interpret and explain discrepancies in financial data, prepare monthly financial close reports, including bank reconciliations, and ensure timely recording of financial transactions. The Financial Coordinator will also be responsible for tax calculations and compliance for the STRIDES project, documenting complex issues, and articulating written conclusions. Additionally, the role involves using financial systems to produce reports and financial models, collaborating with technical and procurement teams, and recommending internal accounting policies and procedures. The Financial Coordinator will support the Finance Manager in ensuring compliance with FHI 360 financial policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management is required, particularly in a government contracting environment. Proficiency in spreadsheet software is essential, and prior experience working on USG programs and in an international NGO environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint enterprise software is preferred, along with a working knowledge of office software, including Word and Excel. The ideal candidate should be well-organized, a self-starter with attention to detail, and able to work effectively within a team.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding financial principles, accounting practices, and business operations, which are critical for the role of Financial Coordinator.

Experience:
The Financial Coordinator should have 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management. Experience in a government contracting environment is essential, and candidates with prior experience working on USG programs and in an international NGO setting will be given preference. Additionally, experience as an external auditor for a minimum of 2 years is considered an advantage, as it demonstrates a strong understanding of financial compliance and auditing processes.

Languages:
Fluency in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesian and English is mandatory for this position. Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with staff officials and executives, as well as for preparing financial reports and documentation. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus but is not required.
