Job Overview:
The Finance Officer will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Finance for Operations, playing a crucial role in supporting the accounting closure of Pools according to the closure schedule. The position involves updating the tracking of receivables and facilitating information exchange as needed across four regions. Key responsibilities include conducting monthly validations according to a checklist, importing SAGA accounting data into Agresso, reconciling accounting entries between Saga, Agresso, and Financial Reports, managing contract billing in Agresso, controlling and entering administrative expenses (overheads) in Agresso, performing account re-evaluations for classes 4 and 5, correcting imports or billings, and supporting the Deputy Director in relation to international accounting. The Finance Officer will also participate in process improvement and methodology enhancement, analyze needs as required by the Deputy Director of Finance for Operations, and update/create operational procedures. Depending on the workload, the officer may also provide support on ongoing files within the Deputy Director's service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Update the tracking of receivables and facilitate information exchange as needed across four regions.
  • Conduct monthly validations according to a checklist.
  • Import SAGA accounting data into Agresso.
  • Reconcile accounting entries between Saga, Agresso, and Financial Reports.
  • Manage contract billing in Agresso.
  • Control and enter administrative expenses (overheads) in Agresso.
  • Perform account re-evaluations for classes 4 and 5 and make necessary adjustments.
  • Create and maintain an asset table.
  • Correct imports or billings as necessary. 1
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (classes 4 and 5). 1
  • Support the Deputy Director in relation to international accounting. 1
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and methodology enhancements. 1
  • Analyze needs as required by the Deputy Director of Finance for Operations. 1

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a degree in finance and possess at least 2 years of experience in the field, including experience in a Country Office within an international NGO. A strong understanding of commitment accounting is essential. The candidate should be able to work effectively in an international environment and must have excellent written and oral English skills.

Educational Background:
A degree in finance or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for managing financial operations and understanding complex accounting principles.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance, particularly within the context of an international NGO. This experience should include familiarity with accounting practices and financial management in a non-profit setting, ideally within a Country Office environment.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this role. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions where Action contre la Faim operates.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as a cadre integrated role, with a fixed-term contract of 6 months and full-time hours. The workplace is located in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis). The annual salary ranges from €37,000 to €44,000 gross, depending on experience, with a seniority bonus applicable after three years of service at the headquarters. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 21 RTT days. Health coverage and other benefits include 80% health insurance coverage by ACF, salary maintenance provisions for illness, maternity, and paternity, as well as transportation allowances covering 50% of the commuting costs. Employees also receive meal vouchers with 60% coverage by the organization. Telework is available to all employees within metropolitan territory, with no mandatory in-person presence required except for collective meetings and events, which are limited to three days per month. New hires must attend two days of in-person orientation. The role may involve field travel to West African countries.
