Job Overview: The security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Intelligence Analyst position at the EIB is a full-time role based at the bank's headquarters in Luxembourg. The primary purpose of this role is to provide analytical security risk reporting and situational assessments, developing a portfolio of data-driven threat and risk assessments. This will aid the EIB in managing security risks, protective security, and incident management both in Luxembourg and abroad. The analyst will supervise a small team of support consultants and will be expected to work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of EIB operations. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential security threats and implementing measures to mitigate risks. The position also involves regular interaction with internal and external authorities, necessitating a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Security Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for supervising a team of embedded security consultants who focus on security information and mission security assessments. Key duties include collecting, evaluating, and analyzing security-related information from both internal and external sources. The analyst will produce structured threat assessments, situation reports, and intelligence products, and conduct corporate security risk assessments for various projects and missions. Additionally, the role involves supporting incident response and crisis coordination with intelligence inputs, participating in daily security briefings, and liaising with internal stakeholders and external authorities. The analyst will also provide security briefings and awareness inputs to staff, build an intelligence network with other EU institutions and international organizations, and prepare various security reports and advisories. General security officer duties will also be part of the role, including managing incidents, documentation, and liaising with security providers.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to security risk management, political science, international relations, or a similar discipline. Certifications in risk analysis or physical security are considered advantageous. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in threat/risk analysis, intelligence, national security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security is required. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of stress tolerance in challenging situations and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree, ideally in security risk management, political science, international relations, or a related field. This foundational knowledge is essential for understanding the complexities of security risks and the geopolitical landscape that influences them. Additional certifications in risk analysis or physical security are beneficial and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fields such as threat/risk analysis, intelligence, national security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security. This level of experience is crucial for the candidate to effectively analyze security threats and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies. The candidate should also have a proven track record of working in high-pressure environments and managing security-related incidents.
Languages: Proficiency in English and/or French is mandatory, with a good command of the other language. Knowledge of additional EU languages is considered an advantage. As both English and French are official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both is essential for career development within the organization. Candidates must meet the language proficiency requirements as outlined in the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to level 5, which is equivalent to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
Additional Notes: This is a full-time position at grade 5, and the EIB offers a permanent contract. The role may require availability beyond regular office hours, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays, especially during incidents or crises. On-call services may also be necessary.
