Job Overview: The Senior Trainer will play a crucial role in enhancing the capacity of women in local communities to effectively participate in local administration elections. This position involves contextualizing UN Women’s training materials to fit the national context of Jordan, ensuring that the training is relevant and accessible to potential female candidates. The consultant will lead the development of a training guide tailored to the specific needs of women candidates, addressing barriers to their participation in local governance. Duties and Responsibilities:
Contextualization of Training Materials: Review and adapt existing UN Women training packages to the Jordanian context, ensuring relevance to national legislation, electoral systems, and the socio-political landscape affecting women's participation.
Capacity Building of the National Training Team: Deliver structured training of trainers (ToT) sessions for a team of 30 national trainers, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct effective training for potential women candidates.
Capacity Assessment and Final Assessment Report: Assess the capacities of the national training team and prepare a comprehensive report detailing strengths, gaps, and recommendations for further capacity building.
Deliverables include a contextualized training package, completion of ToT workshops, and a final assessment report with actionable recommendations.
Ensure all training materials are inclusive, practical, and accessible, integrating local examples and case studies to enhance learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Education: A Master’s degree or equivalent in law, political science, social studies, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in training on political participation, gender equality, and electoral processes in Jordan is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the socio-political context and legislative frameworks governing elections in Jordan. Demonstrated experience in implementing similar programs/projects is essential, along with a proven track record of producing relevant reports. Experience with UN Women is considered an asset.
