Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position is designed as an entry-level learning opportunity for an undergraduate student, providing exposure to FAO’s partnership processes, donor coordination mechanisms, and programme support functions. The role is situated within the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization cluster at the FAO Country Office in Nepal. The Programme Associate will assist in various day-to-day activities related to resource mobilization and international cooperation, contributing to the overall mission of the FAO in Nepal. This position will involve working closely with the FAO Representative, AFAOR (programme), Programme Manager, and the programme team, ensuring that the individual gains valuable insights into the workings of international development and cooperation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will undertake a variety of tasks under the supervision of the FAO Representative in Nepal and the programme team. Key responsibilities include:
  • Compiling and organizing information on development partners, donors, and ongoing collaborations relevant to FAO programmes in Nepal.
  • Supporting the preparation of background notes, briefing materials, and presentations for meetings with partners and international stakeholders.
  • Contributing to drafting simple sections of concept notes, project summaries, and internal documents related to programme development and partnerships, under guidance.
  • Assisting with coordination and follow-up actions related to partner meetings, workshops, and consultations.
  • Supporting the maintenance of simple tracking tools and databases related to partnerships and resource mobilization activities.
  • Participating in team meetings and supporting documentation and knowledge sharing related to partnerships and programme activities.
  • Performing other related support tasks as assigned, consistent with learning objectives.

Required Qualifications:
