Job Overview: The Associate on Partnership Building will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Office and will be responsible for supporting the mapping of priorities, proposal development, and donor communications to secure financial resources for UN Women’s initiatives. This role involves collaborating with various teams, including local, regional, and headquarters teams, to identify and source content for digital fundraising campaigns. The Associate will also be tasked with developing concept notes and partnership proposals that align with UN Women’s strategic plan and the strategic note of Kazakhstan. Ensuring high-quality and timely donor reporting, maintaining donor databases, and tracking fundraising activities are also key responsibilities. The position requires effective communication with donors and stakeholders, monitoring fundraising targets and timelines, and preparing presentation materials for meetings and workshops.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate on Partnership Building include:
Collaborating with local, regional, and HQ teams to identify and source content such as photos, videos, and human interest stories for digital fundraising campaigns.
Mapping and identifying development partners' priorities related to gender equality and women's empowerment.
Developing concept notes and partnership proposals that align with UN Women’s strategic plan and the strategic note of Kazakhstan.
Ensuring high-quality and timely reporting to donors.
Maintaining comprehensive donor databases and tracking all fundraising activities.
Coordinating communication with donors and stakeholders to foster relationships and ensure alignment with UN Women’s goals.
Assisting in monitoring fundraising targets and timelines to ensure objectives are met.
Performing other related tasks as assigned by the Head of Office.
Preparing presentation materials and slides for meetings and workshops, ensuring all necessary documents are ready for discussions.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a strong commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment, along with the following qualifications:
Proven experience in partnership building and fundraising, particularly in the context of international development or humanitarian work.
Strong analytical skills to assess donor priorities and align them with UN Women’s objectives.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey proposals and reports to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society organizations, and international partners.
Proficiency in project management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a relevant educational background, typically a degree in international relations, development studies, gender studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred and may enhance the candidate's competitiveness for the position.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in partnership building, fundraising, or project management within the context of gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the UN system and its operations.
Languages: The primary working languages in Astana are Russian and Kazakh; however, proficiency in English is also essential, especially for communication within international organizations. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
