Job Overview:
The Infrastructure Engineering Analyst position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging technology to support the organization's mission of ending extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The analyst will be responsible for managing and optimizing the foundational IT infrastructure that underpins the World Bank Group's global operations. This includes overseeing the network infrastructure, ensuring its security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and operational availability, and implementing best practices in infrastructure management. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and enhancing infrastructure performance, as well as collaborating with various technology teams to integrate cloud, automation, and security strategies. The analyst will also contribute to the organization's digital transformation agenda by championing innovative solutions that improve IT operations and ensure business continuity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineering Analyst include: managing the product lifecycle of network infrastructure to ensure operational availability; designing and implementing changes to the network infrastructure; maintaining a secure network in compliance with information security standards; analyzing performance data and proposing necessary changes; developing expertise in network infrastructure; resolving recurring issues and documenting procedures; preparing reports on project metrics and achievements; overseeing implementation efforts; understanding the business impact of solutions; and finding solutions to advanced operational problems. Specific activities include maintaining the World Bank Group's network infrastructure for headquarters and data centers, deploying and maintaining network switches and routers, enhancing proactive monitoring capabilities, handling escalation calls from the Network Operations Center (NOC), and ensuring compliance with security standards. The analyst will also participate in audits, respond to client queries, and present technical information to diverse audiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Infrastructure Engineering Analyst position must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in managing a large enterprise campus network is essential, as is hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, GRE, VRF, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, STP, and policy-based routing. Familiarity with packet capture tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump is required, along with the ability to analyze captured data. Experience with 802.1x authentication, Splunk, and ServiceNow is also necessary. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of OSPF and BGP routing protocols, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across organizational boundaries.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Infrastructure Engineering Analyst position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent experience in the IT field may also be considered. A strong foundation in networking principles and practices is essential, as well as familiarity with current technologies and trends in IT infrastructure management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in managing network infrastructure within a large enterprise environment. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and a proven track record of maintaining and optimizing network performance. Experience in implementing security measures and compliance with information security standards is also critical. The ability to analyze performance data and propose improvements is essential, as is experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the World Bank Group. While not required, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances the candidate's ability to work in a diverse, international environment.
