Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the online presence of UN Women’s Regional Office for Arab States. This position involves regular updates and management of web content, ensuring that the digital platforms are user-friendly and reflect the strategic priorities and branding guidelines of UN Women. The consultant will work closely with the Regional Communication Specialist and the Communication Associate to ensure that all content is accurately uploaded and maintained across various digital platforms, including the UN Women website, YouTube, and other social media channels. The role also includes leading the migration of web content to a new global platform, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and accessibility requirements. The consultant will be responsible for conducting performance monitoring and reporting on web page analytics to inform future digital strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Website Maintenance and Content Management: Regularly update and maintain the UN Women Regional Office for Arab States web pages, ensuring all content is current and accurately reflects the organization's mission. Coordinate with Country Offices to manage their web pages, ensuring content is uploaded in English, Arabic, and French as applicable.
  • Technical Support for Online Platforms: Provide technical support for content management across various digital platforms, including YouTube and Flickr. Assist in the migration of web pages to a new platform, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to global standards.
  • Web Platform Migration: Lead the migration of content to the new global web platform, ensuring consistency with branding and accessibility standards. Conduct content audits to identify outdated materials and propose necessary changes.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on web page performance, including visitor statistics and engagement metrics, to inform content strategy.
  • Support for Digital Strategy: Collaborate with the Regional Communication Unit to align web content with UN Women’s digital strategy and propose improvements for user experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: A Master’s degree or equivalent in Communication, Computer Science, Digital Communication, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of progressively responsible work experience in web management, administration, and online support is required. Experience in web editing and familiarity with the UN System is essential. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are also necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Communication, Computer Science, or Digital Communication. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be considered.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in web management and online support. Candidates should have a proven track record in web editing and familiarity with the UN System, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is desirable and would be considered an asset.

This consultancy is home-based, meaning no travel is required. The position is designed to be flexible and may involve part-time or full-time commitments depending on project needs.
