Job Overview:
The Project Manager will lead the implementation of the Sustainable Agricultural Development Project (SADEP) in South Sudan, focusing on activities allocated to Mercy Corps. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day management and coordination of project activities, ensuring they align with SADEP objectives, donor requirements, and organizational standards. The Project Manager will act as the primary liaison with government authorities, partner organizations, and other related projects, ensuring effective collaboration and synergy. The position requires strong leadership skills to ensure that project activities are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while also maintaining high-quality standards. The Project Manager will be responsible for engaging with stakeholders, facilitating community participation, and providing technical guidance to project staff and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager's essential responsibilities include leading the development and execution of detailed work plans to achieve SADEP objectives, ensuring timely delivery of project activities, and monitoring progress against targets. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in planning, managing, and implementing rural development, agricultural, or livelihood improvement projects in public, private, or NGO sectors is required. Demonstrated experience in commercial/private sector practices, including service contracting and performance monitoring, is essential. Post-qualification in Project Management is an added advantage, along with at least 2 years of experience working in South Sudan. Strong knowledge of project management techniques, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting changing deadlines are crucial. Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary, as well as proficiency in computer applications and office technology.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or Economics.
