Job Overview:
The Grants Manager will serve as the mission's focal point for ensuring accountability to donors. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including supporting project development and diversifying funding sources. The Grants Manager will assist the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">grants coordinator in contributing to the mission's strategic development, monitoring and identifying funding opportunities that align with SI's country and global strategy, and overseeing the compilation of timely and high-quality proposals, reports, and contract modification requests for submission to donors and consortium partners. Additionally, the Grants Manager will monitor compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle and build the capacity of both new and existing staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures. The role also involves proactively following up on donor contractual obligations, centralizing and preparing relevant documentation for external audits, and developing partnerships with national partners to reinforce SI's localization strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Manager will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Ensure accountability to donors by monitoring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle.
  • Support project development and diversification of funding sources in line with SI's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the compilation of high-quality proposals, reports, and contract modification requests for submission to donors and consortium partners.
  • Build the capacity of field staff in reporting, internal accountability tools, and donor procedures.
  • Proactively follow up on donor contractual obligations, ensuring that all relevant staff and departments are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Centralize and prepare documentation for external audits and manage the archiving of audit reports.
  • Develop partnerships with national partners and reinforce SI's localization strategy.
  • Manage partnerships with other consortium partners to ensure effective collaboration and resource sharing.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in humanitarian or development studies, social sciences, management, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 1-2 years in a similar position. Specific skills required include experience in developing proposals for institutional donors, capacity building of staff, developing concept notes and strategy papers, excellent writing skills, proficiency in Excel, managing audits and compliance risks, budget follow-up, and developing localization strategies. Candidates should also demonstrate good organizational skills, attention to detail, coordination and diplomacy skills, and the ability to manage stress effectively. Experience working with SI or a similar organization, as well as prior experience in South Sudan, will be considered assets.

Educational Background:
A Master’s Degree in humanitarian or development studies, social sciences, management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of the humanitarian sector and its challenges.

Experience:
The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1-2 years in a similar role. This experience should include a proven track record in grant management, proposal development, and compliance with donor requirements. Candidates should also have experience in capacity building and working in challenging environments, particularly in emergency or post-emergency contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local partners and communities.

Additional Notes:
The Grants Manager position is a salaried role with compensation starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2100 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The position includes a break system, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with a break allowance of USD 85
