Job Overview: The position of UN Youth Volunteer in the Extraordinary Regularization Process involves providing technical support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility in Ecuador. The volunteer will assist in the regularization of Venezuelan citizens and their families, particularly those who have registered for permanent residency but have not yet obtained a visa. The role requires collaboration with various governmental bodies and stakeholders to ensure that the regularization process is efficient and effective. The volunteer will be expected to engage with beneficiaries, providing them with information and guidance regarding their visa applications and the regularization process. This position is crucial in addressing the needs of a vulnerable population and ensuring that their rights are upheld in accordance with Ecuadorian law and international standards. The volunteer will work under the supervision of the Director of Visas and Naturalizations and will be involved in various aspects of the visa issuance process, contributing to the overall mission of UNHCR in Ecuador.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the regularization process of temporary residence visa applications (VIRTE II) for Venezuelan citizens.
Review special cases to provide solutions for Venezuelan citizens needing regularization.
Collaborate with the Ministry of Human Mobility to provide information to beneficiaries regarding visa applications.
Manage all aspects related to the issuance of visas and associated activities.
Perform any other activities related to the regularization of individuals in mobility as assigned by the Ministry.
Participate in introductory and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security sessions provided by the host entity.
Ensure compliance with internal policies regarding leave and vacation management.
Maintain effective communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a national or legal resident of Ecuador.
Minimum of 6 months of experience in process systematization, management of registration systems, and preferably previous experience in regularization processes.
Strong understanding of migration policies and procedures in Ecuador.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to the principles of volunteerism and humanitarian work.
Educational Background:
A university degree or currently enrolled in studies in Law, Social Sciences, International Relations, Sociology, Computer Systems, Administrative Sciences, or related fields.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in process management, particularly in the context of migration and regularization. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with the challenges faced by migrants and refugees, as well as experience in working with governmental or non-governmental organizations in similar roles.
Languages: Fluent Spanish is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication. Basic knowledge of English is also required, which will aid in understanding international documents and communication with non-Spanish speaking stakeholders. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the migrant population may be considered an asset.
