Job Overview: The position of Asistente de Monitoreo y Evaluación at WFP is crucial for supporting the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of food assistance programs aimed at enhancing food security and addressing malnutrition among vulnerable populations in Ecuador. This role is temporary, covering a maternity leave, and is expected to last for six months. The assistant will work under the supervision of the RAM unit and will be responsible for coordinating and executing monitoring activities within a specific coverage area. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure that the monitoring processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall success of WFP's strategic objectives in the country. The assistant will engage with various stakeholders, including local partners and field teams, to gather data and insights that inform program implementation and decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, resolving routine issues and escalating others as necessary to ensure compliance with WFP standards.
Support the monitoring of activities aligned with the strategic objectives of the country office, coordinating information collection with field teams and local partners.
Conduct monthly beneficiary counts and record data in WFP's corporate platform and other required institutions, with supervisor authorization.
Develop, validate, and adjust data collection tools, applying appropriate technologies for data gathering.
Prepare reports to support program reviews and informed decision-making.
Maintain contact with cooperating partners and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and observations to enhance monitoring and program services.
Provide standard training to cooperating partners on operational practices, systems, and monitoring methods to foster independent self-monitoring and increase WFP's visibility in coverage areas.
Train country office staff and partners on the use of internal information systems and monitoring tools.
Generate specific reports related to monitoring plans for ongoing activities. 1

Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of experience in data collection related to program products and effects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and communicating findings to management, partners, and stakeholders. Experience with WFP's monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is highly valued. Familiarity with developing dashboards in Tableau, creating data collection tools in Kobo, and coordinating field data collection will be considered advantageous. Experience within the United Nations system or international organizations is also desirable.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is mandatory, with Spanish as a native language preferred. A basic level of spoken and written English is desirable.
