Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator position is crucial for the effective management and coordination of the Culture programme at the UNESCO Antenna Office in Sarajevo. This role involves overseeing multiple projects aimed at fostering reconciliation and promoting intercultural dialogue in the Western Balkans, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe and will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of project activities. The position requires a proactive approach to managing partnerships, ensuring compliance with project plans, and facilitating communication among all parties involved. The coordinator will also be responsible for drafting reports, managing project logistics, and supporting the Advisory Committee's activities, thereby playing a key role in enhancing the socio-economic impact of cultural and creative sectors in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective coordination among partner organizations involved in the projects. This includes managing project activities, drafting and reviewing progress reports, liaising with finance and communication officers, and assisting in stakeholder engagement. The coordinator will also support project management by monitoring compliance with administrative rules, preparing for meetings and events, and ensuring that all logistical and technical requirements are met. Additionally, the role involves facilitating communication among partners, preparing public information products, and representing the project at national and international events. The coordinator must ensure that all project activities align with the approved work plans and budgets, and that the visibility of project results is maintained according to the communication and dissemination plan.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or above) in cultural studies, media studies, management, international relations, communication, or related fields within the social and human sciences. A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in international cultural cooperation is required, with at least 5 years focused on multi-partner project implementation and management. Strong knowledge of cultural cooperation scenarios in South-East Europe and Bosnia and Herzegovina is essential, along with demonstrated experience in project development and management in an international context. Candidates should also have advanced IT skills and the ability to develop effective communication strategies and tools.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in relevant fields such as cultural studies, media studies, management, international relations, communication, or other related areas within the social and human sciences. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of cultural cooperation and project management in an international setting.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of practical experience in international cultural cooperation, with a strong emphasis on multi-partner project implementation and management. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, demonstrating strong time-management, monitoring, and reporting skills. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies in relevant contexts is also highly valued.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English is mandatory, with the ability to produce high-quality written outputs such as reports and news items. Knowledge of other UNESCO official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and/or Spanish) is desirable, as well as proficiency in one or more of the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This linguistic capability is important for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and for ensuring the visibility of project results.

Additional Notes:
The position is a project appointment with a duration of 1 year, and it is open to both internal and external candidates. The approximate annual starting salary for this post is 98,702 BAM, and benefits may include 30 days of annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, and a pension plan.
