Job Overview: The Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Wolbachia intervention for dengue in Cambodia, working closely with the Senior Associate and the NDCP. This position involves ensuring the effective implementation of Wolbachia interventions at both national and subnational levels, which will help assess the feasibility of scaling these interventions to other high-risk areas. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for conducting household mapping for entomological surveillance, strengthening dengue surveillance, and analyzing data related to dengue incidence and severity. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the NDCP and subnational teams, to develop guidelines and materials necessary for the successful rollout of the intervention. The position demands a self-driven and adaptable individual who can work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support NDCP and subnational teams in developing community engagement materials and training resources for the Wolbachia intervention.
Facilitate training sessions to enhance the capacity of health staff in community engagement and entomology.
Coordinate community engagement activities in line with the established strategy during both pre-release and post-release phases.
Strengthen program management at NDCP and PHD levels, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Proven experience in planning and implementing technology-based solutions for disease surveillance or public health initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships in diverse environments.
Excellent work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of working in high-pressure situations.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in fields related to information systems, epidemiology, biology, public health, or computer science. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical and analytical aspects of the role, particularly in relation to health data management and disease surveillance.
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility in roles related to business analysis, data management, or program implementation. Experience working closely with stakeholders to define and deliver business requirements for technology initiatives is crucial, particularly in the context of public health or disease surveillance.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Khmer is advantageous, particularly for translating documents and facilitating communication with local stakeholders. Candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in both languages will have a competitive edge.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and requires approximately 30% in-country travel to subnational areas.
