Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, ensuring the logistical performance of the Country Office and coordinating its implementation to provide optimal support for various programs. This role is crucial in defining the Country Office's strategy and coordinating logistics at a national level. The Logistics Coordinator will manage international transport in collaboration with headquarters, monitor the implementation of the Country Office's safety policy, and promote collaboration with partners. Additionally, the position involves preventing and managing fraud and corruption, supervising the logistics team, and advising on logistics processes in close coordination with program and support teams. The Logistics Coordinator will analyze trends, update, and implement the Action Against Hunger Logistics and Procurement Plan, ensuring that organizational policies are responsive to the local context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Contributing to the definition and implementation of the Country Office's logistics strategy.
  • Coordinating logistics operations at the national level to ensure efficient support for programs.
  • Managing international transport logistics in collaboration with headquarters.
  • Ensuring the relevance and monitoring the implementation of safety policies within the Country Office.
  • Promoting collaboration and logistical coordination with partners and stakeholders.
  • Preventing and managing situations of fraud and corruption within logistics operations.
  • Supervising and supporting the logistics team in the capital and acting as the functional manager for the Logistics Manager on bases, overseeing a total of 71 collaborators.
  • Providing advisory support on logistics processes and approaches, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
  • Analyzing logistics trends and advising on necessary updates to the Logistics and Procurement Plan. 1
  • Collaborating with the country management team to ensure that logistical policies are contextually appropriate and effective.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Logistics and have a minimum of 3 years of experience working on logistics projects, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Experience with Action Against Hunger is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong capabilities in planning, organizing, and executing logistics operations, with a clear understanding of humanitarian principles and the code of conduct relevant to NGO operations. Knowledge of local, regional, national, and international logistics and procurement policies is essential. Candidates must also exhibit strong leadership and team management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's degree in Logistics or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage logistics operations in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have over 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, particularly within humanitarian settings. This experience should include managing logistics operations, coordinating with various stakeholders, and understanding the complexities of logistics in emergency situations. Familiarity with the operations of Action Against Hunger or similar organizations is a significant advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions where Action Against Hunger operates.

  • The monthly gross salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th month salary. Non-French citizens will receive reimbursement of pension insurance at a rate of 16% of the gross monthly salary. Employees will also receive a monthly per diem and living allowance of $838 net, along with a country allowance of 150 euros. A child allowance of 1500 euros per year per child is available, with a maximum of 6000 euros per year. Transportation and accommodation costs will be covered, and medical coverage includes 100% coverage of health and repatriation insurance fees for employees and their dependents. The organization offers 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation days, and airfare reimbursement for breaks.
