Job Overview: The UN Volunteer in this position will play a crucial role in supporting WHO staff in delivering administrative services for various programs. The responsibilities include assisting in the administrative arrangements for field visits and duty travel for project and program staff, consultants, and visiting missions into Gaza. This involves coordinating with administrative staff regarding ticket and hotel reservations, as well as ensuring security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security clearances are obtained. The volunteer will also support the processes required for the movement of international staff in and out of Gaza, including the coordination of SURGE missions. Additionally, the volunteer will assist in maintaining information databases, such as mailing lists and document tracking systems, which are essential for monitoring the status and completion of technical projects and programs. The role also encourages engagement with communities and the integration of the UN Volunteers program mandate into daily activities, promoting voluntary action and community involvement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer include:
Supporting WHO staff in the delivery of administrative services for programs.
Assisting in the administrative arrangements for field visits and duty travel of project and program staff, consultants, and visiting missions into Gaza.
Following up with administrative staff on ticket and hotel reservations and security clearances.
Supporting the processes required for movements in and out of Gaza for international staff.
Assisting with the movement of SURGE missions in and out of Gaza.
Liaising with the Access Unit (ASU) in charge of coordination for WHO staff.
Updating and maintaining information databases, including mailing lists and document tracking systems.
Engaging in activities that promote volunteerism and community involvement, such as participating in UNV events and contributing to publications.
Assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers. 1
Promoting the use of online volunteering among local groups and organizations.

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, given the local context and the need for effective communication with local partners and stakeholders. Additional languages may be considered an asset, depending on the specific requirements of the role.
Additional Notes: This position is designated as a remote national UN Volunteer role, meaning that the volunteer will be responsible for securing and maintaining appropriate housing and covering all related living arrangements and expenses. The initial contract duration is six months, with potential extensions based on funding availability, operational requirements, and satisfactory performance. The volunteer will receive a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) to assist with housing, utilities, and living expenses. Furthermore, the UN Volunteer will be entitled to life, health, and permanent disability insurance coverage, including health insurance for up to three eligible dependents, as well as an exit allowance contingent upon the satisfactory completion of service.
