The multi-country mission for Chad-Cameroon-Central African Republic (TCA) consists of 10 bases/sub-bases in total. In Chad, SI currently has a coordination base in N'Djamena and three operational bases in Bagasola, Adré, and Iriba. SI also operates in the Ennedi East province from Iriba and in the Sila province. In the Lac province, where this position is based, SI has strengthened its actions by providing emergencyhumanitarian assistance in food security, livelihood support, improving access to water, hygiene, and sanitation services, and supporting agricultural practices. The organization collaborates with various donors, including ECHO and DoS, and partners with ACHUDE. The Bagasola base currently employs 30 people.
Job Overview: The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the logistics team at their base, ensuring compliance with donor procedures and Solidarités International's policies. They supervise procurement and general services, manage the vehicle fleet, oversee stock management, and ensure the proper application of logistics policies at their base. The Logistics Manager also supports, monitors, and trains the administrative team members under their supervision. This position has been newly established, splitting the previous Admin/Log position into two distinct roles. The base is operational, with ongoing multi-donor projects, and the team is functional. The Logistics Manager is expected to not only fulfill the outlined responsibilities but also to assist in the capacity building of their team and propose improvements to their service. In the first 2-3 months, the Logistics Manager will primarily focus on procurement procedures, which are critical for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Manager's duties include overseeing the logistics operations at the base, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and policies. They are responsible for managing procurement processes, including the acquisition of goods and services, and ensuring that all purchases are made in accordance with donor regulations. The Logistics Manager will also manage the vehicle fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained and used efficiently. They will oversee stock management, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that supplies are available when needed. Additionally, the Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing general services, including accommodation and office facilities. They will support and train the logistics team, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. The Logistics Manager will also be expected to identify areas for improvement within the logistics operations and implement changes as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bac + 4 degree in financial accounting, logistics, or a related field. They should have experience in the humanitarian sector, with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience. Additionally, candidates should have at least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar position. Technical skills required include knowledge of procurement procedures, vehicle fleet management, general services management, and proficiency in logistics software. Strong written communication skills in French are essential, and candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage teams and work autonomously.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bac + 4 degree in financial accounting, logistics, or a related field. This educational level ensures that candidates have a solid understanding of the principles of logistics and financial management, which are crucial for the effective execution of the role.

Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract based in Baga Sola, Chad. The salary is competitive, starting at EUR 2,310 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2,100 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of EUR 60
SI also covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the place of assignment. During the mission, a system of alternating work and leave is implemented, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with an additional day of rest for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance that covers all medical expenses, including surgical care, dental and ophthalmological treatments, and repatriation.
