Job Overview: The CFW Project Associate will report directly to the Cash for Work Project Officer and will play a crucial role in managing project-related complaints and issues. This position involves coordinating with field staff and the cash for work project team to compile relevant reports and prepare responses for project-related queries. The associate will be responsible for developing standard operating procedures, eligibility criteria, guidance notes, and documenting best practices and lessons learned. A significant aspect of the role includes leading the creation and implementation of a communication plan for the project, which entails developing and disseminating communication materials and organizing events in collaboration with the UNRWA Public Information team, ensuring alignment with donor and UNRWA communication policies. The associate will also organize and maintain project databases, ensuring systematic archiving of pertinent information and conducting quality assurance checks. Additionally, the associate will assist in project implementation, ensuring that all activities and deliverables meet required quality standards and adhere to legal agreements. Tracking project progress and assessing performance based on scope, budget, timeline, and quality will be essential, as well as promptly reporting any issues to Project Officers with recommended corrective actions. The associate may also be tasked with additional responsibilities as prioritized by the Cash for Work Project Officers and Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the CFW Project Associate include:
Managing project-related complaints and issues by coordinating with field staff and the cash for work project team, and compiling relevant reports.
Preparing responses and correspondence for project-related queries.
Developing standard operating procedures, eligibility criteria, guidance notes, and documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
Leading the creation and implementation of a communication plan for the project, including the development and dissemination of communication materials and organizing events in coordination with the UNRWA Public Information team.
Organizing and maintaining project databases by systematically archiving all pertinent information and conducting quality assurance checks.

Required Qualifications: The position requires a bachelor's degree in fields such as business administration, public administration, development studies, project management, international relations, social sciences, communications, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in areas such as project management support, project coordination, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, community involvement, communications, and reporting, preferably with a UN agency or non-governmental organization. Languages: For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, but for this specific job opening, candidates must demonstrate a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for English and UN Level I for Arabic. Additional Notes: The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band E, with a duration of 6 months, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need. The monthly salary for this position is USD 1,633.20, which includes a basic salary of USD 1,466.20 and a special allowance of USD 16
Additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pro-rated to the duration of the contract, family allowance (if applicable), 2 days of sick leave for each completed month of service, maternity leave upon meeting eligibility requirements, and 2 weeks of paternity leave upon meeting eligibility requirements. The vacancy is open to both internal and external candidates, but only those residing in Lebanon and authorized to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible.
