Job Overview: The Light Vehicle Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of UN personnel, including VIPs and senior officials. The incumbent will be responsible for operating and maintaining UNSCOL vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition at all times. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Light Vehicle Driver include:
Operating and driving UNSCOL vehicles safely and securely, particularly for VIPs and senior officers.
Liaising with the Security Unit to determine vehicular requirements and ensuring the availability of necessary vehicles, including armored/4X4 vehicles.
Taking instructions from the Logistics Assistant regarding specific tasks and ensuring effective communication on logistic matters.
Maintaining all vehicles in full working condition and conducting routine maintenance as per established schedules.
Monitoring vehicles for mechanical issues and addressing them promptly.
Assisting with the collection and delivery of mail and documents to various UN agencies, embassies, and governmental institutions.
Meeting official personnel at the airport and facilitating immigration and customs clearances as required.
Keeping detailed records of vehicle usage, including mileage, refueling, and service history.
Ensuring compliance with minimum operating security standards through regular checks and reporting deficiencies. 1
Following all rules and regulations while driving and in case of accidents. 1
Applying good judgment in assignments and performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Light Vehicle Driver position include:
A valid Lebanese driving license for 'C' category is mandatory.
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, as well as familiarity with the local area and road conditions.
