Job Overview:
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Training Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety of healthcare workers and patients at Al Khair Hospital and Al Awda Hospital. The consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive IPC training tailored to both medical and non-medical staff. This training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement effective IPC measures in their daily operations. The consultant will conduct a training needs assessment to identify the specific requirements of the staff, develop a practical curriculum aligned with international IPC guidelines, and deliver engaging training sessions that cater to varying education levels. The overall goal is to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement in IPC practices within the hospitals, ultimately contributing to better healthcare outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key responsibilities, including conducting a training needs assessment to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the participants. They will develop or adapt a simplified IPC curriculum tailored to the needs of non-medical staff for a one-day training session and a two-day training session for medical staff. The training will incorporate interactive methods, hands-on demonstrations, and visual aids to ensure accessibility for all participants. The consultant will also provide user-friendly training materials and conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Additionally, the consultant will compile a final report summarizing the training activities, participant numbers, results, and key recommendations for ongoing IPC improvements. Quality assurance will be a priority, with the consultant ensuring that all training content aligns with recognized IPC standards and integrating feedback from initial training sessions into subsequent deliveries.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven experience in conducting IPC or health and safety training for hospital staff, particularly in areas such as medical waste management and environmental hygiene. Experience working with both medical and non-medical staff in healthcare settings is essential. Trainers should demonstrate strong facilitation skills and a solid understanding of IPC principles. Experience in humanitarian or emergency contexts is considered an advantage, as it reflects the ability to adapt training to challenging environments. The consultant must also have a commitment to maintaining high standards of training quality and professionalism throughout the assignment.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in public health, nursing, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates should have formal training in infection prevention and control practices, as well as experience in adult education methodologies. Additional certifications in IPC or health and safety training will be beneficial and may enhance the candidate's profile.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three to five years of experience in delivering training programs related to infection prevention and control, particularly in healthcare settings. Experience in assessing training needs and developing tailored training curricula is essential. Familiarity with international IPC guidelines, such as those from the WHO and CDC, is also important. The consultant should have a proven track record of successfully training diverse groups, including both clinical and non-clinical staff, and should be able to demonstrate the impact of their training on improving IPC practices.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all training materials and sessions will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local staff and enhance the training experience for participants. Additional Notes:
The training will be conducted over a specified duration, with one day allocated for non-medical staff and two days for medical staff, each consisting of five hours of training. The training will take place at Al Khair Hospital and Al Awda Hospital, with the exact timeline to be confirmed upon contract award.
