Job Overview:

The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Private Sector Infrastructure Team during the due diligence process for financing private sector infrastructure projects. The focus will be on projects in the power, water, and circular economy sectors, primarily located in the Philippines, People's Republic of China (PRC), and Mongolia. The intern will assist in conducting sector analyses, as well as economic, financial, technological, and sponsor evaluations for each project. This position may also require business travel to the PRC or Mongolia for a duration of three days. The internship is expected to last for 11 weeks, starting in August 2026, and the intern will contribute to the final due diligence report and present their findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's primary responsibilities will include assisting in the due diligence process for two proposed private sector infrastructure projects. This will involve conducting thorough analyses of the projects, including sector analysis, economic evaluations, financial assessments, and evaluations of the technology and sponsors involved. The intern will be expected to collaborate with the due diligence team, contribute to specific sections of the final due diligence report, and prepare a short presentation summarizing their findings. The role may also involve engaging with stakeholders and gathering relevant data to support the analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program or pursuing a PhD in finance or a related field. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial principles as they relate to infrastructure projects. Additionally, the intern should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English, as effective communication is essential for presenting findings and collaborating with team members.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this internship is that candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program or pursuing a PhD in finance or a related field. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills needed for the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have preferably 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in a financial institution or as an infrastructure project sponsor.
