Job Overview:
The position involves developing a Gender-Responsive Training Programme specifically focused on new regulations governing electrical appliances and hydrofluorocarbons. The role is crucial in ensuring that the training provided is aligned with gender considerations, promoting equality and inclusivity in the context of environmental regulations. The contractor will be expected to conduct thorough research on the existing regulations, assess the training needs of various stakeholders, and design a comprehensive training curriculum that addresses these needs while integrating gender perspectives. The assignment is home-based and is expected to be completed within a period of 60 working days over three months, allowing for flexibility in scheduling and execution of tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing regulations related to electrical appliances and hydrofluorocarbons, focusing on gender implications.
  • Identify and analyze the training needs of different stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and community organizations.
  • Develop a detailed training curriculum that incorporates gender-responsive approaches and methodologies.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive tools, to facilitate effective learning.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars, ensuring active participation and engagement from all attendees.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programme through feedback and assessments, making necessary adjustments to improve future sessions.
  • Collaborate with UNDP and other partners to ensure alignment with broader development goals and initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports and a final report summarizing the outcomes of the training programme and recommendations for future actions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing training programmes, particularly in the context of gender and environmental issues.
  • Strong understanding of gender-responsive approaches and their application in training and capacity building.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into accessible formats.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions.
  • Familiarity with regulations governing electrical appliances and hydrofluorocarbons is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Environmental Science, Education, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in gender-responsive programming or adult education methodologies will be considered an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in developing training programmes, with a focus on gender issues and environmental regulations. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP or similar agencies, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in local languages spoken in Ghana would be an asset, as it would facilitate better communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the training programme.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is 60 working days over a period of three months. This is a home-based position, allowing for flexibility in work hours.
