Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Assistant – Warehouse/Fleet position at DRC is a critical role that supports the management of stocks, supplies, assets, fleet, and inventory within the Dollo Ado Area Office. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Officer (SCO), the assistant will play a vital role in ensuring that all operational and safety procedures are adhered to, thereby facilitating the smooth functioning of DRC programs. The position involves a variety of tasks, including procurement assistance, inventory management, asset tracking, and fleet management. The Supply Chain Assistant will be expected to maintain accurate records, oversee the storage and distribution of supplies, and ensure that all assets are properly documented and maintained. This role is essential for ensuring that DRC can effectively deliver its humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining an up-to-date tracker of all DRC stock and assets, ensuring that stock is correctly received and stored, conducting regular checks of the warehouse to ensure supplies remain undamaged, and releasing stock to staff with appropriate documentation. The assistant will also be responsible for planning and managing weekly fleet plans, preparing vehicle requests, supervising staff and contract drivers, and ensuring that all vehicles are properly fueled and documented. Additionally, the assistant will conduct regular safety checks of DRC premises, assist in procurement processes, and coordinate with the Admin for maintenance and repairs. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Supply Chain Assistant position must possess a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in administrative tasks and supply chain management, preferably in logistics. Strong IT skills are essential, with experience in operating an ERP supply chain system being preferred. Full proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with familiarity with standard procurement procedures and documentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required for this position. Relevant certifications or licenses in supply chain management or logistics will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of supply chain principles and practices, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant work experience in supply chain management or logistics. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing inventory, assets, and fleet operations. Experience in a humanitarian or non-governmental organization is highly desirable, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique challenges faced in such environments.

Languages:
Fluency in Somali is mandatory, with good verbal and written proficiency required. Proficiency in English is also necessary, as the role involves communication with diverse stakeholders and documentation in English. Additional language skills may be considered an advantage, particularly if they relate to the local context.

The contract for this position is for a duration of 10 months, classified as a National Contract under Band I2 – Non-Management. The designated duty station is Dollo Ado, Ethiopia, with a start date of March 15, 202
